The Agriculture Minister Salvador Jimenez announced the start of the sale of products combo basket in different parts of the country, to benefit low-income families .
The combo costs RD $ 1.248 and contains 50 bananas, 21 pounds of rice, two pounds of beans, 15 pounds of potatoes, two pounds of sweet potatoes, a pound of garlic, six pounds of spaghetti, 20 pounds of cassava , a cabbage and a carton of eggs, among other products in the basket.
Jimenez stressed that the sale of food at reasonable prices is intended to address high food prices and wave of speculation that is recorded in trade in recent days.
said the product package fresh agricultural good prices start selling 210 seats in agriculture that are already installed throughout the national territory, in the most impoverished neighborhoods.
According to calculations of Agriculture, the products of the package would last a week in a family of eight people and will save nearly a thousand dollars weekly.
